3D Scanning Services
Artfit now offers 3D scanning and 3D design services.
3D Scanning for Museums
We scan three-dimensional artworks and artifacts for collection management, condition reports, and custom packing design.
Scan data can also be used to mill foam cavities and braces to the exact shape of each object. Crate designs can be archived for future milling for risk management.
We offer training and consultation for museums looking to integrate 3D scanning into their collections workflow.
For Art and Design Fabrication
We scan people, objects, and original artwork, then prepare files for digital fabrication. Scan data provides exact volume and surface area measurements for accurate quotes on 3D printing, bronze casting, and CNC milling.
Our team uses ZBrush to sculpt, edit, and prepare files for output in a range of materials, including castable wax, PMMA, and CNC-milled substrates.
For Heritage and Conservation
We scan original architectural elements on-site and reverse-engineer the files to reproduce missing components in millwork, plaster, or building facades.
Reverse Engineering
When a project requires clean topology or a manufacturing-ready .STP file, we coordinate with a trusted network of CAD designers to reverse-engineer scan files.
Training
We offer on-site and remote training in 3D scanning, with a focus on the specific challenges of scanning art objects and museum collections.
Technical support
Personalized, live support from a 3D scanning expert is available to help your team achieve a successful scan from the start.
